PEACE-FARMS

Peace-Farms
Peace-Farms is a not-for-profit organization committed to improving farming practices among the Small Holder Farmers in Kenya through training in modern farming techniques that are appropriate to the culture and available resources of the local people. Peace-Farms is facilitating the sharing of the farming technology of Peace-Farms-Canada with Peace-Farms-Kenya to benefit the local Small Holder Farmers and to increase, and expand their agricultural production of maize, millet, beans and vegetables.
Peace-Farms-Canada operates in the Belloy area of the Central Peace Region of Alberta.
Peace-Farms is collaborating with Kanyawegi Support for Orphans and Widows (KASOW), a Canadian Registered Charitable Organization. KASOW-Canada is focusing on long-term community development initiatives in Africa that will help the children, families and farmers to develop the knowledge, skills, and tools to create a better future for themselves. Attention is given to establishing practical programs that local people can learn, adopt and manage. The projects emphasize a holistic approach to sustainability, local involvement, incremental implementation across multiple communities, and creating systems that can grow from community to community.
